Courtney Friel is a correspondent for the Fox News Channel. She joined the network in February of 2007. While her primary beat is entertainment and tech, she’s also a fill-in anchor for FNC’s #1 rated morning show “FOX & Friends”. You can catch Courtney’s reports on FNC mostly during the weekday daytime hours, but she often goes head to head with Bill O’Reilly on “The O’Reilly Factor” or joins the panel on the late night show “Red Eye”. In addition, Courtney hosts multiple hours per week online at the “Strategy Room”- FoxNews.com’s live streaming show, plus she produces/hosts a daily entertainment segment for Fox411.com.

Prior to joining FNC, Friel was an anchor and reporter for KPSP (CBS) in Palm Springs, CA. She also hosted “The World Poker Tour” on the Travel Channel and co-anchored Court TV’s “The Saturday Night Solution.” In 2004, Courtney served as a west coast correspondent for FOX’s “America’s Most Wanted.” She has been a field reporter for various networks including E! Entertainment, Oxygen Channel, GOTV Mobile Television, Comcast Cable, as well as the syndicated program “Extra.”

Courtney’s first job in local news was the primetime anchor at WBBJ (ABC) in Jackson, TN. This included shooting, editing, and writing her own stories, plus rolling the teleprompter with her right foot during the newscasts. Her first day of live television began at 4am with a deadly tornado that leveled the town and also totaled her car!

Courtney hails from the Philadelphia suburbs, where her mom, dad, and two sisters still live. She started out her career at Methacton High School, where she pretty much lived in the TV studio. After Courtney got the chance to be a student reporter for Channel One News, she was off to the West Coast. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. While interning at KNSD- the local NBC affiliate- she met her husband, Carter Evans, who is now a reporter for CNN. The couple currently resides in Manhattan with their King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Stoli. Their first son is due in December of 2010.
